My wife and I have made the move to my favorite place on earth Memphis, Tn. Okay, well really Bartlett a suburb right outside of Memphis but you know what I mean.
Lauren and I first discussed moving to Memphis back in 2015 when we vacationed here on our 1st wedding anniversary. I was working on my Masters in Guitar Performance at Illinois State University in Normal, IL. at the time and was on Spring Break for the week.
Since I had been teaching a lot about the blues at the time in the Mus 118 and Mus 119 classes that I taught as part of the conditions of my scholarship, I thought what a better place to visit than yet another historic blues city. Growing up in rural Illinois I was used to hearing blues in Chicago and St. Louis. But I had yet to go to Memphis. My wife who grew up in Phoenix was very happy to get out of the small country town that hosts the Illinois State University Campus.
We both loved the local culture, the weather, and the friendly people. When my wife finished college at Arizona State University in 2021, we started to look for a house. We decided to move to the place we both loved so much to raise our children. Since moving to town we have started a family. We added a baby girl who was born right here in Memphis (well Germantown anyways)
Bartlett Tn. is the ideal place to raise our little family. We are having an great time getting to know the local community.
